May

We understand that local towns and villages, where the flame was carried through the streets by runners, were packed with spectators, enjoying the timely return of warm weather. Several visitors enjoyed a train ride and refreshments at Woody Bay today, mainly people who were on their way to see the Torch Relay through Lynton.

Lynton and Lynmouth will be more accessible over the summer months now a bus company has agreed to create Sunday and bank holiday services from Barnstaple.

The 310 service from Barnstaple to Lynton, which is operated by Filers, will now have buses running four times a day on Sundays and public holidays until September 23.
