This report from Thursday Gang regular Dave Bloomfield

The weather at Woody Bay today was expected to be showery and it didn't disappoint. Heavy showers interrupted work throughout the day. Luckily the shed was close to hand as we were continuing the relaying of the track at the rear of the engine shed started the week before. Although it doesn't look it, a lot of work was accomplished today.  During the week Martyn Budd, using the L&B's excavator, had levelled the track-bed ready for the sleepers.

This feel-good factor has even reached the L&B this year, with reports of higher passenger figures, increased sales, a rise in volunteering hours recorded and further initial steps towards the extension being made by the Exmoor Enterprise team.

Mike Nelson has now completed the detail drawings for Lyn's cylinders.

Mike adds that this has been a real challenge as not only did he need to recreate the original style and shape but also include the modifications required to enhance the performance. This is a very complex assembly and the total number of drawings required for this component alone is 95!
