The UK’s leading professional cycle race, The Tour of Britain, is passing though Exmoor on Tuesday 11 September and is set to be an exciting day for participants and spectators alike.
Today saw the passing of the annual North Devon Mini Run at Woody Bay Station. The Minis congregate every year at Ilfracombe and drive in convoy to Lynmouth, and return.
The railway's newly acquired 'Maffei' steam locomotive "Sid" has now entered service on passenger trains. The locomotive is owned by a small group of the railway's Trustees and is permanently based on the railway.
The Lynton & Barnstaple's Kerr Stuart Joffre Class locomotive 'Axe' is now another step closer to completion, with a successful test run of the chassis on compressed air.
On Saturday 28th July, Phil Rawstron & Chris Dadson visited Isfield at the invitation of the Lavender Line to collect a substantial quantity of new and used signalling equipment, which were surplus to the railway's requirements.
