New Diesel Purchase

The Lynton & Barnstaple Railway this week agreed the purchase of Hunslet diesel locomotive works No. 6652, from Gosport Borough Council. The 1965 built diesel is identical to our existing diesel 'Heddon Hall' and comes to the railway from Gosport's "Explosion!" Museum.

In addition to the loco, we have purchased a box van, flat wagon and wooden bodied brake van. All are 2' 6" they will require regauging before being used on the railway. The photo below shows the diesel and vehicles  being unloaded in North Devon.
