The railway's newly acquired 'Maffei' steam locomotive "Sid" has now entered service on passenger trains. The locomotive is owned by a small group of the railway's Trustees and is permanently based on the railway.
The engine is an 0-4-0WT, and is quite large compared to locomotives previously used on the railway. Sid arrived earlier this summer, but it has taken a couple of months to prepare the loco for service including a repaint.
The engine is now running on passenger trains on a regular basis - for details of which engines are expected to run on which days, take a took at the timetable page and click on the day you intend to visit.
