Monday 7th January, one of several bitterly cold days recently, but volunteers and staff were again on site to assist contractors in the relaying of the track into Killington Lane.
On Sunday 16th December, Parracombe's Christ Church Christmas Choir assembled at Woody Bay Station. This was the group's first outing (gig) away from the church and they did a fabulous job!
Over the last few weeks the railway has seen significant change. Probably the most noticeable was for the short period while we were closed, when a team of staff and volunteers undertook the sizeable task of re-railing most the top half of the mainline.
This weeks Thursday work party carried out a successful movement of the unfinished well wagon which had been stored on the truncated remains of the engineers siding near Bridge 67 since early 2006.
The Lynton & Barnstaple Railway's Autumn Gala over this weekend was an astounding success. Over the two days the railway carried well over a thousand passengers between Woody Bay Station and Killington Lane.
The railway's Autumn Gala at Woody Bay next weekend (Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 September) will be officially opened on the Saturday by Andrew Scott, the Head of the National Railway Museum.
