Well, we made it! After a fantastic effort (and a quantity of late night oil) from the guys at Boston Lodge, Isaac appeared for invited guests at a naming ceremony at the Ffestiniog Railway's Harbour Station on Saturday evening.
After a short introduction by FR&WHR General Manager Paul Lewin, the loco was named by the owner's uncle who then unveiled the traditional curtains, to reveal the nameplates.

Accucraft, the well known manufacturer of live steam locomotives and rolling stock, supported the L&B May Gala at Woody Bay. To celebrate the success of their L&B portfolio of products they very kindly donated to the 762 Club a live steam model of ‘Lyn’ (inclusive of radio) to help raise funds to assist the building of the new locomotive.
On the Monday after the Gala, Martin Creese of 30742 Charters had arranged a photo-charter featuring LYD and the Heritage Coaches. The weather on Monday morning seemed much brighter than over the weekend, and a number of photographers turned up to take part and record the scene as LYD posed, and made several runs along the line.
Thanks to all the staff and volunteers for such an amazing, successful Gala last weekend. Everyone worked well as a team providing everything for all the visitors from the car parking, marquee attractions, the catering and of course all the railway operations over the weekend.
The Spring Gala with LYD & the Heritage Carriages is quickly approaching. More running in of the carriages with LILLA hauling coaches Nos. 7 & 17 in the morning before giving way later to the 'usual' Thorpe Park 4 carriage passenger train, today hauled by Hunslet diesel HEDDON HALL.
