Work in Progress: 16th May

Thanks to all the staff and volunteers for such an amazing, successful Gala last weekend. Everyone worked well as a team providing everything for all the visitors from the car parking, marquee attractions, the catering and of course all the railway operations over the weekend.

This week the railway begins to return to 'normal'. Jobs for the Thursday gang this morning included putting all the signs and notice boards back into storage, retrieving and stacking all the barriers, and taking down and storing the smaller tent used for the Barbeque. The wooden tables were returned to their usual positions, the barbeques cleaned and stored away, and all the rubbish and recycling items collected.

Visitors to the railway at Woody Bay today were treated to the bonus sight of LYD operating the passenger train with Coach 7 & Coach 17. The weather was changeable, but your reporter was able to obtain some better photos of the spectacle making up for the poorer conditions he experienced frustratedly over the weekend.
