Tuesday 23rd December the team was mainly involved in updating the security of the work shop.

It has been agreed that Tuesday of every week - commencing the 6th of January 2015 - will be the main volunteers working day. Other days are available by arrangement. Please contact David Ely on 07434523725.

Volunteering days will not be available during weeks that include public holidays or the when the L&BR has a major event such as the Spring and Autumn Galas

RIP Mike Johnson

Just heard the sad news that Mike Johnson, a key mover and shaker in the Welsh Highland Railway (Porthmadog) from the mid-late 1970s and early 1980s, has died this week after suffering with cancer for almost a year.

Mike was one of the prime movers in getting the new railway up and running on the then recently occupied Beddgelert Siding site. He was actively involved in procuring rail, sleepers and track materials, with ex-W.D. 75lb per yard flat bottom rail and timber sleepers for the Company’s own use, other rail and materials for onward sale to raise much-needed funds.
