Two stations, two work parties....
Whilst several volunteers remained at Woody Bay to carry out further maintenance on the building, electrical, and signalling projects, another work party was this week organised for Chelfham Station.
With suitably qualified tree surgeons Chris Bull and Chris Lines on site, the programme of tree clearance at Chelfham was continued. Several overhanging trees by the station building and over the down platform needed removal and Chris Bull "climbed" these respective trees to lop branches and also fell the trees as required.
1. Above the down platform, Chris Bull 'climbed' up this tree to begin its safe removal.
2. All the smaller branches were disposed of in this bonfire tended to by Andy Leckenby and Jim Pounds.
3. Lunch was held in the waiting room (still under restoration). L to R - Chris Lines, Judy Williams (who provided soup, rolls, tea and cake to be enjoyed by today's small gang) Chris Bull, Graham Lee, Jim Pounds & Andy Leckenby.
