Over the last few weeks the railway has seen significant change. Probably the most noticeable was for the short period while we were closed, when a team of staff and volunteers undertook the sizeable task of re-railing most the top half of the mainline.
The track that is now fitted with new rails runs from the crossover outside Woody Bay Station, down to milepost 15¾. This means that the whole of the mainline is now fitted with longer rail lengths, and eliminates the last remaining section of short length rails, making for a notably smoother ride on the train!
