Taking advantage of the railway being closed to the public for a few days, work continued on the drainage ditch across the goods yard area by the concrete stable and the original Gents.

The main job today for the gang was to mix concrete and cement in to secure a ducting pipe across in front of the pedestrian gate. SR bogie open No.28320 with aggregate bags and cement on board was positioned nearby in the loading dock. The gang working as a team mixed cement to wheelbarrow across to the ditch to fix the piping in place.

Until recently, the L&B website included a select number of pages in languages other than English, for the benefit our overseas visitors.

Unfortunately the software used to manage this facility became unstable and has been taken out of use. To replace this, an automatic translation facility from Google has been added - to choose from over 50 languages, including several using non-Latin alphabets, use the "Select Language" drop-down box on the top right panel of any screen. 

Today, and for the first time since 1936, Van 23 moved on its own wheels on the L&B.

Only a short trip, moved temporarily from the loading dock to the head shunt whilst new telephone cables were trenched under the siding, but interesting to see it in a new position after all this time.
