Work in Progress - 11th February

It was very cold but dry and bright winter weather on Exmoor today for the usual Thursday gang volunteers. Ian Cowling led a small group who went to Wistlandpound to continue the clearance of the trackbed and eventually light some bonfires to burn off some of the trees and undergrowth cleared recently by the IOWR volunteers during their working weekend.

At Woody Bay, S & T engineers Rob Pym & Dick Gunn all but finished the down starter signal. The mechanism for the lower quadrant signal was commissioned and tested with Lever 8. The actual signal arm itself is currently being painted ready for fixing later in the week.

Martyn Budd's gang today continued work on the drainage trench and pipe between the loading dock and the stable.

4. The loading dock siding after some reballasting earlier this week.

5. Alistair Hall with the new drainage chamber by the stable.

6. Martyn & Alistair tidy up after backfilling the trench with small stone ballast.

7. Creating a small bank behind the disabled parking bays to protect the fence.
