Mark Newton, a disabled British Army veteran, is travelling all around the British coastline (as well as many of the islands - including Lundy) to raise money for a number of charities - on a mobility scooter! The scooter is towing a sizeable trailer, and he is accompanied by Missy and Smudge, his two well-travelled cats.
Today is the tenth anniversary of the first passenger train from Woody Bay on the reinstated Lynton & Barnstaple Railway. A lot of effort had been put in for many years before to reach that milestone, and much more has been achieved since, with still much more to come ...

We have just been advised of the death of yet another of our long-standing working volunteers - Bill Flecknoe who he had been ill for some months, but was only diagnosed as having motor neurone disease right at the end.
His funeral will take place at Barnstaple Crematorium, Friday 11th July at 11-40 am. Our thoughts are with his family at this time time.
