Chelfham Station will be open to visitors from 10am not only over the forthcoming Vintage Steam Weekend (Sat 10 & Sun 11 May) but every Sunday throughout the year.
During the winter months the volunteers have continued the work begun last year at Chelfham - the second station owned by the L&BR. Naturally, during the shorter, colder days restoration has focused primarily on the interior of the original 1898 station building.
As well as being heavily involved in many other projects, regular L&B volunteer Dave Evans has now also qualified as a Passenger Guard - congratulations Dave!
Trevor Garnham has been in contact with Kurt Djurstrom of the Risten-Lakvik Musuem Railway, Sweden - SID's new owners.
Kurt advises that LAKVIK has now passed all three inspections required by the Swedish authorities and will now enter revenue service on Tuesday 6th May 2014. Go HERE and select Bildgalleriet from the left-hand menu for more details.
