More from Rowley Moor Farm and Woody Bay...
Under blue skies work got under way early at Woody Bay...
1. Dick (best side to the camera) and Don (hidden behind DIck!) working on the necessary greasing of point mechanisms ...
2. ... while our cheery footplate crew, Andy and Pete, readied ISAAC for the first trip of the day.
3. Meanwhile, down at Rowley Moor Farm more drainage work was in hand. Les, Dave, Martin and Pete, with General Manager Martyn in the digger, laid in a new land drain, discovering several old ones in the process!.
4. Another concurrent task at the farm was to construct a manhole in which to connect the two drains uncovered last week. The precast sections were manhandled into place, the pipes connected ...
5.... and backfilled to be better than new!
6.Returning to Woody Bay for a well earned lunch, the gang saw ISAAC leave on another trip to Killington Lane, with Bob the Guard keeping a close eye on proceedings.
7. General Manager Martyn, Don and Dick discussed the finer engineering points of CHARLES WYTOCK as John Heys (the owner, bottom left) gets to grips with the engineering restoration work, ably assisted by John in the workshop..
8. On the platform Dave, Dave and Jim discuss the construction of steps to give easier access to the new coaches for less physically able visitors.
9. Painting today was in the hands of Nigel on benches ...
10. ... and Jim on AXE's new vacuum brake ejector and pipework.
11. Our visitors today were enthusiastically photographing the impressive sight of ISAAC and the Heritage Coaches.
12. As the day draws to an end, ISAAC runs around at Woody Bay ready for the last departure of the day.
