The Ongar Railway Preservation Society (ORPS) which was established in 1991 is now in the process of being wound up. The miniature railway at Woody Bay is rightly-regarded as a useful “extra attraction” for our visitors, but we have not been able to operate it on a regular basis, mainly due to a lack of sufficient steam loco volunteers. However, if we had either a battery or internal combustion locomotive, we should be able to operate this railway more often.
