Sadly, we have received the news that L&BR Life Member Les King passed away Thursday 6th September.
Les joined the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway Association back in the 1980s and served as a committee member, Together with his late wife Cathy, he played a significant role in the opening, organising and operation of the L&B's Signal Box Museum - formerly Barnstaple Town mainline Signal Box.
Due to a change in personal circumstances, some timeshares are currently available to buy in Rowley Moor House, the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway related holiday property.
Rowley Moor House is ideal for inviting family or friends for a week's holiday in North Devon. The house is just a short walk from the Old Station House at Blackmoor Gate.
The view from the wooden deck at the back of the house is already magnificent - shareholders are looking forward to the day when L&BR trains run past the bottom of the back garden!
The Lynton & Barnstaple Railway Trust together with the 762 Club Ltd. is pleased to announce its next project:
Several years ago, the L&BR commenced work to build a replica of ‘YEO’ a Manning, Wardle locomotive that ran on the railway from 1898 until closure in 1935. This earlier project was put on hold until the construction of ‘LYD’ at the Ffestiniog Railway was completed and operational. More detail HERE
This week we'll start with the essential trackwork required to keep the L&BR in tip-top condition for the daily trains that run up and down the line all summer.
