Chelfham Station January 2016

Work in Progress - Wednesday 20th January Chelfham Station.

Some progress already this year by the ‘small’ group of regular L&BR volunteers. Work parties are every Wednesday and Sunday, as the station restoration plans continue.

Latest from the the EAST Group!

On Tuesday, the EAST Group moved Van 23 bodily sideways 20 feet to allow for the erection of the bodywork of Carriage No 5.

Thanks to the hard work of the group last year in removing pews and other woodwork from an Ipswich church and preparing it for reuse and also the generosity of L&BR members with their cash - we now have all the four tons of timber in stock ready to rebuild the carriage.

Roger Hateley- Requiescat In Pace

It is with sadness that we  announce the passing of Roger Hateley on 18th December 2015

Roger had been volunteering on the railway for many years as one of our regular "Tuesday" Guards.

Roger's funeral will be at 11.40 am on Tuesday 12th January at the North Devon Crematorium.

Our thoughts are with his wife Susan at this time.
