Latest from the the EAST Group!

On Tuesday, the EAST Group moved Van 23 bodily sideways 20 feet to allow for the erection of the bodywork of Carriage No 5.

Thanks to the hard work of the group last year in removing pews and other woodwork from an Ipswich church and preparing it for reuse and also the generosity of L&BR members with their cash - we now have all the four tons of timber in stock ready to rebuild the carriage.

The bespoke table and seats for Chelfham Station intended to be installed later this year are almost ready for delivery and are the subject of a photographic record. This is to be sent later by David Ely and will show how it was done.
