Surrey Group 2018 Events

Members Meetings

• Saturday 17^th March 2018 - Surrey Group Annual General Meeting.
  All members of the Surrey Support Group are encouraged to attend this meeting which commences at 1pm.
• Saturday 23^rd June 2018 – An audio/visual Presentation entitled “The Lynton & Barnstaple Railway – from the 1935 closure to the Preservation Era” by guest speaker Keith Vingoe (L&BR historian, author, a Member of the railway since 1980, director of the railway for the past 13 years, during which time has held the positions of Trust Chairman and Railway Company Managing Director. Currently Marketing and Commercial Director of the L&BR CIC).

Please note that this presentation replaces the meeting which is traditionally held around this date due to reasons beyond our control. We are hoping to arrange for the South East Area Groups Meeting to be held  later this year possibly during October or November.

Both of the above meetings will be held in the Clubhouse at:

Woking Miniature Railway (aka Mizens Railway)
Barrs Lane, Knaphill, Surrey GU21 2JW

Refreshments will be available and there is ample FREE off-road parking available within the grounds.

Sales Stand Outings

• Saturday 28^th / Sunday 29^th April 2018 – Epsom Show, the Model Railway Exhibition of the Epsom & Ewell Model Railway Club at North East Surrey College of Technology (NESCOT), Reigate Road, Ewell KT17 3DS.
• Saturday 19^th May 2018 – SWING (Small and Wonderful Industrial & Narrow Gauge), the Model Railway Exhibition of the South Downs Group of The 7mm Narrow Gauge Association at The Littlehampton Academy, Fitzalan Road, Littlehampton BN17 6FE.
• Saturday 14^th / Sunday 15^th July 2018 – The Rail Gala at Amberley Museum & Heritage Centre, New Barn Road, Amberley, Near Arundel BN18 9LT.
• Saturday 8^th / Sunday 9^th September 2018 - The Railway Enthusiasts’ Club (REC) Model Railway Exhibition at Woking Leisure Centre, Woking Park GU22 9BA.
