Fireman from Australia's Puffing Billy Railway visits Woody Bay Station

Dan Gilliland, a Puffing Billy Railway volunteer for over 25 years, made it over to the UK and helped out at Woody Bay Station from the 7th to the 16th of May - our Spring Gala weekend. Dan clearly enjoyed himself, and left a lasting impression on all those that met him.

More L&B trackbed purchased near Rowley!

The L&BR Trust is pleased to announce that it has purchased yet another significant section of L&B trackbed plus several fields.

The recently purchased section (outlined in red) is a continuation of the land to the left at Rowley Moor already owned by the L&B Trust. We do not own the section outlined in blue.

We have a great Museum in Barnstaple and it is one of the top 25 visitor attractions in the South West! It is the place to discover the wildife, history and culture of North Devon. It is packed with fascinating exhibits and there is a regular programme of temporary displays, events and children's activities.

The collections have grown so much over the last 30 years that we have some important objects in outside storage and no room to display them.
