North West Group events - 1st and 8th April 2017

The North West group of the L&B will have a display / sales stand and a working model layout depicting Chelfham viaduct and station, at the following event:

All Saints Parish Hall and Rainford Village Hall

Nr St Helens
Merseyside
WA11 8HE

The show occupies two halls, 200 yards apart, which open 10am to 4.30pm on 1 April.  It promises 20 layouts in various scales/gauges as well as 12 trade stands and society stands. Refreshments are available, and both halls are wheelchair-friendly. There is free parking around both halls.

Admission is £5 (under 15s free with an adult).

Bristol L&B member Paul Levy has kindly provided the NW group with a full range of his 009 L&B kits (as reviewed in L&B Magazine 111, plus some newly-introduced items), so these will be on sale at the show.  The profit margin on all sales of the kits at the show will go to the L&B.

N.B. This event is at RAINFORD, not the better-known (for railway enthusiasts) Rainhill, which is a few miles away!

A week later, the NW group will hold a meeting at the Friends Meeting House, 6 Mount Street, Manchester M2 5NS, from 1400 – 1600.

The meeting will include pictures of various L&B projects as well as new pictures of the L&B’s twin railway in Australia, and (we hope) a live video Question and Answer session with L&B Company Director Keith Vingoe. A chance for members to hear first-hand about the current situation…
