Devon Group trip to Looe - 11th April

This month's rail trip was a return to the picturesque fishing village of Looe in South East Cornwall. 10 regulars enjoyed today's trip.

1. Ex First Great Western HST125's still dominate on the main line into Cornwall. We alighted at Liskeard....

. 2.....for the branch connection for Looe which was a single coach Class 153 - very busy with all the Easter week holidaymakers as well as the L&B group.

3. At Looe everyone poses by 153377.

4. Beer and lunch was taken at The Olde Salutation Inn, East Looe. We were lucky to be able to all sit around the big table here.

5. Time for a walk to the beach and harbour. We all resisted the temptation to have a go on the bouncy octopus though!

Trains back went well with a tight connection at Liskeard. With more beer/coffee at Newton Abbot and an earlier train than planned back to Barnstaple.

Our next trip will be Wednesday 9th May to Christow, (Exeter and Teign Valley Railway and on Wednesday 20th June we head to Falmouth.
