Devon Group Christmas Rail Trip

Wednesday 12th December

Up to 19 Trust members and volunteers enjoyed today's rail trip to various hostelries in Exmouth, Crediton, Newton Abbot and Newton St Cyres.

1. From Barnstaple to Exeter then Down to Exmouth first. The Class 150 arrives at Exmouth on the local service from Paignton.

2. The L&BR group occupy the whole end of one carriage of the refurbished 150.

3. Some of the group including Somerset Group's Mark Bladwell and retired Catering Manager Judy Williams pose at Crediton.

Lunch was at Crediton's Wetherspoons - the General Sir Redvers Butler. As we had pre-booked and also paid deposits, the meals all came in good time.

Afterwards, some returned to Barnstaple whilst the die-hards went back to Exeter, then along to Newton Abbot for a pint, and even had time to revisit the Beer Engine at Newton St Cyres.

A Merry Christmas to you all - it has been quite a year!
