Work in Progress: Thursday 5th March

Roadworks TriangleMore of the same this Thursday...both in work and weather!

Once again Roger Bye provides us with the news from Woody Bay this week.

1. Trains were running today and here LYN, the rostered locomotive, waits for the few, but enthusiastic, passengers who visited us, despite the weather. The rain and wind made LYN’s enclosed cab, the Paint Shop and Engine Shed popular work places today!

2, 3, & 4. The Paint-Shop Boys were hard at work renovating coach panels and windows...

5. ...while Barrie concentrated on the drip strips on the carriage roof end.

6, & 7. In the engine shed Dave, Tom and Gerry (!) were working on the kit of parts which will eventually be reassembled into CHARLES WYTOCK’s bogie.

8. Meanwhile, John and Nick were attending to AXE’s valve gear.

There was no let up in the sleeper replacement program - despite the weather.

9. While waiting for a ride to Killington Lane with their equipment, Don and Steve chat while Nick explains the extension plans to Glyn (who returned for a second week!)

10. Six sleepers in the track at Killington Lane station were replaced today. There was also a good opportunity to photograph trains...

11. Arriving at....

12 ...running round...

13. ...and departing from Killington Lane.
