In the morning at Woody Bay, the track gang were tasked with some jacking, levelling and tamping and fishplate bolt tightening of the platform lines through the station. Also an uneven joint by the crossover was attended to with insertion of some 'shims' around the fishplate to bring the rail heights back together and provide a smoother ride over this rail joint. Several similar joints are being attended too all along the line.
1. After lunch, some shunting of wagons was required at Killington Lane, so a top & tailed train was formed with diesel HEDDON HALL at one end and SID at the other end.
2. At Killington Lane HEDDON HALL was detached and then underook the shunt and is seen here with bogie flat wagon 28321 loaded with recently delivered ex MOD 50lb. weight rails which will be used this winter to rerail the curve above Bridge 67.
