Work in Progress - Thursday 23rd April

Diesels in action at Woody Bay

With Hunslet Diesel HEDDON HALL busy working the passenger train today, a couple of shunting moves of the Box Vans and Bogie Flat wagon required small Motor-rail Simplex diesel TITCH to be started up for a very rare occasion and used to shunt the wagons to the loading dock. A lunchtime works train also ran with HEDDON HALL taking the ballast wagon and a small flat to Killington Lane.

The main task today for the slightly depleted Thursday Group was to move the mess facilities from the Portakabin to the adjacent new Mess Room. Although the volunteers' toilet and shower room still remain to be fitted out, the new mess room has its kitchen facilities now all commisioned. The main sign of this room coming into use was when the all important kettle was moved across.
