Work in Progress - Thursday 17th September

Most of the regular volunteers have had their summer holidays recently so today it was a good turnout for the Thursday gang. A variety of tasks were carried out during the day although at tea break and lunch time the mess room was almost full of thirsty volunteers enjoying the usual L&B chat and gossip.

1. Martyn Budd installing a new heritage style road bollard on the corner between the entrance drive and loading dock. This after further painting replaces the 'not really 1935' modern road cones which have been used here recently. In the background is Van 23 which was given a good clean by the Thursday gang last week.

2. Richard Willey mixes up some concrete for the base of the hole for the road bollard.

3. & 4. Richard Drewer strimming grass near the sewage treatment tank covers as part of further tidying of the whole site prior to next weekends Autumn Steam Gala.

5,6,7. Progress on the 7.25" Garden Railway by Alistair Hall.

It is expected that the 7.25" Railway will be operating during the Gala, with a visiting loco from Pecorama.

8. After some shunting today TITCH has been positioned for photographic purposes for the Gala with MOD flat No.52 and the Brake Van.
