Work in Progress - Sunday 22nd February

The major track-bash weekend aided by some excellent mild and dry weather (such a contrast to the snow of two weekends ago!), continued today with further track remodelling at the Lynton end of Woody Bay Station.

The second regauged turnout was installed into its allotted position and then rails, carefully selected and brought from storage were cut, drilled and fixed in place. An unusual works train which included the passenger carriages as well as the bogie flat wagon collected sleepers from the stacks near Bridge 67.

As dusk fell, the crossing rails were cut, although more work to finish off the trackwork is needed this week as we prepare to begin running passenger trains sceduled for next Sunday 1st March.

As well as the usual Thursday Group, Martyn Budd would appreciate any help on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday this week to be able to achieve this.

Thanks to all who attended from afar this weekend especially the Isle Of Wight and Dorset Groups. Thanks also to Teresa Flewellen who provided all the volunteers with sustenence over the whole weekend.
