Work in Progress - Friday 23rd January

The working weekend continued on Friday, with a gang including teams from the Talyllyn and Isle of White railways, and more local members, soon had the new rails in place.  A second track gang was working further down (or Up!) the line towards Killington Lane.

A very welcome lunch was provided in the Station buffet. Teresa was able to keep the hunger pangs at bay, coping with a lunch running to three shifts!

After lunch the up platform rails were lifted and replaced. 

Work was also carried out in the signal box, which included installing rodding and locking ready for the new Lynton end points which are currently in the car park, ready to be installed next month.  As well as - and despite the track-laying - AXE was steamed, was able to take on a couple of 'running in' trips to Killington Lane during the afternoon."
