Here is Nigel's first "work in progress" report since the gala
A very wet day at Woody Bay this morning, so after all the gala signs, marquees, tents, barbecues, etc. had been safely stored away until next time, everyone stayed working in the shed carrying out a variety of jobs as part of the autumn programme of tasks necessary to progress the railway. Just a few photos from inside the shed today.
1. PRINCE returned to Wales earlier in the week, however, EMMET is still here at Woody Bay and today EMMET's owners Jim and Mary Haylock were on site working on the locomotive to prepare it ready for its next steaming later this month.
2. Jim Pounds paints more parts of the assembled lever frame.
3. Roger Bye dismantles an old wooden storage box to create more space within the shed for the winter storage of the heritage carriages.
4. Dave Evans & Jim Price begin another carpentry project inside the shed...
5. ... a new large wooden poster board and frame for mounting the map of the Railway's extension plans. By the afternoon the board begins to take shape.
