Work in Progress: 30th May

1. GP39 (Bronllwyd) is on the road trailer in the car park ready for its return to the Statfold Barn Railway in time for their enthusiasts open day Saturday 1st June - this weekend.

2. AXE's overhaul and repaint is finally nearing completion. AXE was hauled out of the shed today for more work by the engineering team on site today.

3. As SID was also unavailable, Hunslet diesel HEDDON HALL was operating the passenger trains. HEDDON HALL is shown arriving at Woody Bay with a morning train.


4. For the trackgang the work today  was to complete the fishplate greasing progamme. The up line through Woody Bay Station was tackled this morning behind the train.

5. When the train had left the volunteers were able to attend the rail joints along the line where the passenger train usually stands.

6. After lunch the gang caught the train to Killington Lane and began greasing rail joints along both lines there. Andy Foster and Dave Bloomfield work on a joint near the loop shunt signal.

7. Also working on a rail joint was Jim McFarlane and Nigel Spencer.
