Varied tasks at Woody Bay station today.
This weeks report comes from Graham Bendell
A glorious, but chilly, day awaited Thursday Gang members as they assembled at Woody Bay. Several of the Gang departed for Chelfham and Rowley Moor Farm where they sorted stores and moved some items between sites. Nigel Thompson was in that group (without his camera!) so, as one of those working at Woody Bay, it fell to me to produce a report.
1. Don Newnham and Trevor Buck carry out final adjustments to a Tyer’s tablet instrument.
2. Jim Price puts the finishing touches to a sign for the Spring Vintage Weekend.
3. John Villers (pictured) and Graham Bendell creocoted the fences at Woody Bay Station (and will be smelling it for days!)
4. Carriage 11 awaiting its debut at the Spring Vintage Weekend.
5. Dave Evans was rehanging the door on the SR concrete lamp hut to make access easier – and using the seat as a makeshift bench.
6. If it’s green Nigel Spencer will paint it! This week he paints the railings on the down platform.
7. CHARLES WYTOCK was in steam for testing purposes. Nick Slade was in attendance.
8. Jim Pounds measures the fixings on the back of the recently installed replica sign. Another one is on its way.
9. Jim Price, observed by Dave Evans, repairs the door frame of the stable. It is remarkable the number and variety of jobs Jim gets through.
10. Dick Gunn fixing the brackets for the shunt signal access platform.
11. Still in full sun ISAAC brings the last train of the day back to Woody Bay Station.
