After the very successful and well organised Gala, it was up to the volunteers of the Thursday Group to gradually get everything back to normal at Woody Bay. Whilst we awaited the lorries from Wales to collect LYD and the two coaches (the last of which will be returned on Friday 8th October), there were several tasks carried out by the gang on this Thursday.
Litter bins were emptied and repositioned, smaller gazebos and tents were taken down and into store.
The 20+ 'A' framed signs and notice boards (made by the Surrey Group) were all retrieved from the A39 Park & Rides at Caffyns and Blackmoor Gate and stored upstairs in the shed.
A large number of trestle tables were collected from the marquees, entrance and beer tent sites and moved onto the stage to await further collection.
All on-loan electricity cables for the marquees were coiled up and returned to Dave Blencowe. Surplus diesel fuel (from LYD's supply) was transferred from the temporary tanks into the fuel tank by the shed.
1.The electrical cables and diesel tanks were kindly supplied by Dave Blencowe. After packing up everything and transferring the tanks to his trailer, Dave poses by the loaded trailer.
2. On the stage a pile of trestle tables awaits collection and return to store ready for the next event.
3. After the Beer tent has been removed, Brom & Dave discuss how the electrics coped with the lighting demands.
4. In the shed LYD rests after the hectic Gala workings before its return to North Wales. SID awaits its next turn of duty on the passenger train.
