Work in Progress - 30 December

A return to milder weather now with the snow all melted at last. After everyones over indulgences at Christmas it was time again for the Thursday Gang to get out onto the track to carry out some maintenance.

1. Standing aside whilst AXE passes on the first train of the day.
2. AXE passes again with the 1130 Killington Lane-Woody Bay Mince Pie Special

The other task today was to reposition several point rodding bases alongside the track near the coaling stage. Unfortunately this run serving the facing point lock (FPL) on the turnout in front of the shed was found to be just too close to the track during replica locomotive LYD's visit in September. The FPL was adjusted by the points but this also required the concrete rodding bases to be moved slightly further away from the track.

3. The rodding bases are lined up in their new positions.
4. Julian and Dave dig around to position a base in line and level with the others.
