1. Fireman Jim Price and Driver Pete Williams with AXE during watering in-between trains.
2. AXE returns to Woody Bay with the three carriage train today.
3. In the shed is the almost finished Hunslet diesel D6652.
4. With the showery weather prevalent, today's main project for the volunteers was to work in the shed on Box Van No.62. Dave Bloomfield works on the roof sides.
Later Nigel Thompson was able to paint red oxide primer onto the derusted steel framework. Van No.62 is for some equipment storage and is usually stabled in the loading dock. After 10 years of the harsh and extreme Exmoor weather it was time now to begin the repaint programme of the Box Vans as they are clearly seen by all visitors travelling along the railway.
5. Dave Bloomfield assembles the new Barbecue ready in time for the first Special Event of 2012 (Vintage Vehicle Weekend 12-13 May).
