Still cold, and still just the few volunteers about this week.
Prior to the working weekend, the Thursday gang had another variety of winter maintenance jobs to keep them busy both inside and outside, at Woody Bay, Killington Lane and Rowley Moor Farm.
1. The engineers have been busy rebuilding the plant trailer this week. The new welded frame complete with rails is now ready for painting by Dave Robinson and Dave Evans.

2. The Daves are joined by Jim Pounds, who seemed to have squeezed himself underneath the frame to paint the bottom surfaces.

3. Next job was to dig another post hole. Nigel Thompson poses with Dave and Jim whilst the hole is dug near the car park entrance.

4. Dave and Jim admire their handiwork. The sign came about because of the increasing volume of coaches - some with drivers unfamiliar with reversing down to the station combined with a greater number of visitors walking about.
5. After lunch in the winter sunshine a works train ran down to Killington Lane.
6. Visitors like to observe the steam locomotive during the run round manoeuvre - with a fourth carriage in service the platform area at the Woody Bay end needs be extended. The job here is to adjust the safety fence position to accommodate the fourth carriage. The path will need to be raised and will be supported by redundant sleepers and rail posts.
Daves Blencowe, Bloomfield and Drayson completed a consumer unit replacement and also experimented with some new technology - a LED replacement for a fluorescent tube fittings. All were seriously impressed.
At Rowley Moor Farm, Jim Price was busy finishing off fittings for the new doors for the concrete sheds and later the gang moved and prepared the fencing equipment ready for the working weekend.
