Slightly later than usual due to your roving reporter Nigel T being unduly busy with work and also experiencing some PC problems! But surely the wait is worth it!
An assortment of jobs today for the gang at Woody Bay. With the Autumn Steam Gala looming on the horizon now (24/25 Sept), many tasks involve sprucing up the station and preparing the site for this prestigious event.
1. Don Brereton paints the final fence panel on the up platform.
2. Len Howse after completing a touch up repaint of the green and white lettering of the down platform's replica running-in board 'Woody Bay' sign.
3. Next Don & Len turn their attention to some repainting of the green woodwork around the signal cabin.

5. From the paint shop the gang move the newly painted and heavy body panels of Hunslet Diesel D6652 which are stored temporarily on bogie flat SR No.28321.
6. The repainted body panels "enjoy" being outside on bogie flat No.28321.
7. Repairs to small flat No.52 - new planks will replace the rotting ones.
8. The first door frame for the restored ex MoD Brake Van SR No.56042 is trial fitted before painting. The wheelsets are currently off-site for regauging. On their return this vehicle is almost ready to enter L&B service.
9. Newly regauged wheelsets from the newest ex MoD flats waiting to be refitted into their refurbished and repainted bogies.
10. More wood to be cut to length for sleepers for the extensions to the 7.25" miniature railway was unloaded to be moved to shed on the p.w. trolley.
11. With weed killing duties finished for the year, the tank has been temporarily relocated alongside the loading dock to act as a water supply for the steam locos operating the 'Driver for a Donation' trips during the Gala.
