After the very successful working weekend clearing the trackbed and picnic area at Rowley Cross, Parracombe, it was back this week to the essential jobs at Woody Bay and preparing for the forthcoming Santa Specials.
1. The main task this morning was to complete the ash pit project. The excavator with auger attached was used to dig the soak-away.
2. Jim and Dave reconnect the rails over the ash pit.
3. John O'Dell installs plywood shuttering for the concrete ends of the ash pit.
4. All action shot of members of the Thursday gang working in and around the ash pit.
5. Jim Price poses by the station and newly repainted window frame.
6. Close up of the window frame with the correct SR green lining.
7. In the shed Hunslet diesel D6652's restoration continues as John O'Dell installs the locomotive's battery into a new insulated box within the battery housing ...
8. ... whilst Pete Williams prepares the headlamp for reattachment.
9. Another project in the shed has been the construction of a new short wooden fence for Killington Lane Station, whilst the telephone box awaits further attention by the gang on a poor weather day.
10. This week inside the station it seems Santa and his helpers have delivered all these parcels ready to be wrapped up for the children's presents later this month.
11. Festively decorated tea rooms at Woody Bay - the work of Jim and Kate Pounds - and a pile of wrapping paper ready for use.
