Work in progress 17 April

Nigel Thompson was on site once again on Sunday and sent us this report :

D6652 the 'new' (as yet unnamed) Hunslet diesel, was given a test run today to assess its mechanics. All went well and the loco appears to be in good condition given its time out of service.

1. Chris Carder in HEDDON HALL shunts D6652 back towards the shed after the test run.

2. Hunslet diesel D6652 stabled by the shed. Note the temporary exhaust pipe.  Although several suggestions for a name have been mentioned on the L&B forums - the engineering team will surely have a say about this.  But will it follow L&B convention, by being named after a local landmark like Holwell Castle and Heddon Hall?   Whatever it is called it will be announced here in due course.   No mention so far of what colour it will be painted!

3. Later in the day AXE returns to Woody Bay past ex MOD flat No.52 (undergoing a repaint) and SR liveried Box Van No.64 in the loading dock.
