The Thursday Gang continues this week, working on various jobs around Woody Bay station.
1. Thursday Group volunteers continue dismantling some recently delivered track panels to prepare the re-usable rails and sleepers for further extensions to the Woody Bay Miniature Railway.
2. Dick Gunn removing rust and cleaning up the up starter signal post for repainting this winter.
3. AXE's footplate crew today are Phil Clarke and Jim Price.
4. Guard Bob Ayres checks the train prior to another departure.
5. David Mead (visiting volunteer from the Mid Hants Railway) was helping in the booking office and shop.
6. Philip Skelton and David Mead serve visitors in the station booking office and shop.
L&B locomotives at Woody Bay this autumn.
7. AXE approaches Woody Bay with an afternoon service.
8. HEDDON HALL with some wagons loaded with coal during a shunt move on the transhipment siding.
9. In the shed, visiting locomotive LILLA awaits another turn on the L&B before its return home to the Ffestiniog Railway later this year.
10. SID, as the L&B's main back-up locomotive, also rests in the shed.
11. All the volunteers on site today gather to present regular Thursday volunteer, Richard Willey (seated right) with a 70th Birthday cake.
12. Richard blows out the candle on the cake, specially made to celebrate his recent birthday by catering manager Judy Williams.
13. Richard enjoys the first chocolate cake rolls on the cake before allowing the rest of the volunteers to have some.
