The 10th & 11th May saw our Victorian Weekend and 110th anniversary. We were greeted on the weekend with some excellent sunny weather, and with it came a whole host of visitors in Victorian dress.
Over the two days we had locomotive 'Statfold' in steam on trains, while 'Sid' gave footplate rides from outside the engine shed. A steam roller provided a bonus attraction by the platform entrance, which following plenty of polishing was sparkling in the sunlight over the two days.
The weekend certainly drew in visitors, with several hundred passengers on the trains and some particularly good takings through the recently refurbished tearooms. A great show was put on both afternoons by Victorian actors from Tyburg Jig and we should most certainly not forget to thank the Ilfracombe Victorian Celebration committee and supporters for helping promote and support the event over the weekend.
This year's Ilfracombe Victorian Celebration will be taking place from 7th to 15th June as part of this year's North Devon Festival.
