Regarding our Section 73 Application, here are the exhibition panels from the presentation at Woody Bay Station held Friday 11th and Saturday 12th February.

LYNTON & BARNSTAPLE RAILWAY TRUST

Scope of amendments to Planning application

To construct and open the extension of the railway in two stages

• Stage 1 will be from Killington Lane to Parracombe
• Stage 2 will be from Parracombe to Blackmoor Gate

Scope of Stage 1

• Three highway entrances at Blackmoor Gate
  (All items permitted by current permissions)
   
• A399 Exmoor Farmers existing entrance
• A39 Rowley Moor Farm existing works entrance
• A39 Temporary Public Car Park new entrance
  Works to be carried out concurrently to limit highway disruption
   
• Reconstruction of railway from Killington Lane to Parracombe Halt
  (as permitted by current permission)
   

Simplification of Parracombe Halt layout
 

• Remove second platform
• Remove second waiting shelter
• Shorten ‘run-round’ loop and platform
• Install the renovated L&BR original turntable

The turntable was originally at Pilton Yard in Barnstaple. It is operated by hand and will allow the locomotive to be run round the carriages using the shorter track loop until the line is further extended

Scope of Stage 2
(All items permitted by current permissions)

• Reconstruction of railway from Parracombe Halt to Blackmoor Gate
• Construction of engine shed and workshop
• Construction of railway car park
• Remodelling of Exmoor National Park public car park
