New Treatment Plant

Woody Bay Station's new effluent (sewage) treatment plant and holding tank were installed beyond the end of the platform this week. This system will be able to service all the station's needs and replaces the old Victorian 'soak-away'.

The discharge from the new tank is theoretically clean enough to drink, although as yet we don't have anyone volunteering to try it.

The main treatment plant is carried down the transshipment siding and over the mainline. The treatment plant and storage tank are concreted into position.
