At a meeting at Bratton Fleming Sports Club on 11 October, it was announced that Exmoor Associates had recently purchased another section of L&B trackbed. As the purchase is not yet complete the precise location of this new acquisition will be publicly revealed at a later date
Chairman Mike Buse then introduced Tony Hobbs who announced to the meeting the formation of the Yeo Valley Trust. The object of this new Trust was described as to open up the L&B trackbed to walkers by creating a permissive footpath from Barnstaple to Wistlandpound. The Trust which was created on the 24 August 2009, will be a charitable trust with a Charitable Deed, and not a charitable company with a Memorandum and Articles. Although it has not yet been registered, the new trust's Chairman is Tony Hobbs and the other appointed Trustees are John Buck, Mike Buse, Jenny Driver, Barry Marshall and Mike Selby.
After lunch there was a trackbed walk on the newly purchased section as well as a further walk on a section of trackbed near Pennyall Bridge.
