Michael Portillo Visits Woody Bay Station - May 24

Michael Portillo delighted volunteers and holidaymakers alike today when he visited Woody Bay Station with his trusty Bradshaw while making his next series of Great British Railway Journeys to be shown on BBC2 in January. He had previously visited the West Somerset Railway and the Lynton Cliff Railway.

Michael was very interested in the Railway's intention to extend and in his final piece to camera before departing for Barnstaple (at this date by road), he expressed the hope that our extension plans would be successful. A great boost to morale!
