Late afternoon Tuesday 7th October - LYD is loaded prior to return to North Wales.
1. In the dark late afternoon AXE shunts LYD up the transhipment siding.
2. GM Martyn Budd guides LYD from L&B rails onto the low-loader.
3. The lorry cab completes the task of winching LYD onto the low-loader.
As can be seen from the 1000's of photos taken during LYD'a visit, this much loved engine has provided us with plenty to admire over the past week. This is only possible because of the generous support the L&B receives from the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways, who not only make it possible for LYD to come down here to Devon, but also provide vital support during the weekend too.
Our thanks also to life-long L&B aficionado James Evans who had the foresight all those years ago to begin the project that gave us the opportunity see one of these very very special engines at work on the L&B.
Until the next time.
