LLAMA at Woody Bay

Lynton & Lynmouth Music Festival (LLAMA)

Sunday June 14th 2009 - Woody Bay Station

1.00pm: Jacksboro Highway – Acoustic Blues

Evolved from three Northamptonshire guys getting together at an acoustic night with a love for a bluesy style of music. They have released two albums - Light'n the Load in 2005 and Diversions 2006 and will shortly complete a live album.

1.45: Sarah Gough – Modern, alternative and laced with jazziness

Sarah stands with one foot firmly rooted into British popular music. With a unique voice, clever lyrics and pleasing melody lines, she recalls artists such as Beth Orton, Feist, Lennon and McCartney and Suzanne Vega, but expresses a quality that is completely her own. "I've explored life in so many ways and have had the pleasure to meet such individual and inspirational characters. I can't help writing about them. Writing music and playing it live, gives you a feeling unlike any other. It's satisfying to affect people and to move them by what you have created."

2.30: Kevin Dyer - Blues/folk style with a jazz feel

With a stripped back, laid back playing style, Kevin Dyer comes across like a young James Taylor and his original songs reflect this influence. Having supported the likes of Mick Taylor and David Rovics to promote his albums. He will be accompanied by Adam Courquin on keyboards.

3.15: Chris Millington - Combines the traditional with the contemporary singing songs of the sea, the past and the heart

A multi talented multi instrumentalist at ease with anything from the guitar to squeezebox and from mandolin to sitar. This diversity of influences and instruments compliments his compositions and he has now found his niche, inspired by the beautiful north Devon coastline and local stories of smuggling, wrecking and piracy along the North Devon coast. The “wild eyed boy of Exmoor”, Chris' strong stage presence combined with his powerful songs and moving lyrics has enchanted and captivated audiences at the Sidmouth folk festival, Bideford Folk Festival and North Devon Festival, performing alongside acts such as Richard Thompson, Bellowhead, Seth Lakeman, Jim Moray, Show of Hands and many more.
