Devon Action Employers Award 2008

Over the past couple of seasons the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway has been taking part in the Devon Action scheme for teenagers, centred on engineering work carried out through our workshop facility.

During a presentation in Exeter last week, our workshop supervisor Les Driver accepted an Employers Award on behalf of the railway and the workshop. Les was genuinely taken aback to be called up on stage to get an employer’s award, which is a reflection of the effort put in by the workshop and Les in particular over recent years to build relations and work with the community.
